In July 2006, BURONOMIC was awarded PEFC certification (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes), another step forward for this firmly future-oriented company.

At a time when the environment is constantly jeopardised and where ecology plays an increasingly important role, BURONOMIC decided to contribute to sustainable forest management.
Today, through forest certification and the chain of custody, BURONOMIC guarantees that at least 70 % of the wood used in its office furniture bears the PEFC label.

Created in 1999, the PEFC now includes 32 member countries. The PEFC Council is the main independent, non-profit, non-governmental certification organisation, whose objective is to certify sustainable forest management throughout the world. The PEFC enables purchasers of wood and paper products to guarantee to customers that the wood used in their products comes from sustainable managed forests. Certification also represents a tool in the fight against illegal wood trade.

Buronomic is one of the very few office furniture companies to have obtained PEFC certification.
